Japanese Game Center

This is a continuation of my previous post about Osaka Castle.

After Takehiro and I went to Osaka castle, we decided to spend a couple of hours at a nearby game center. These game centers are all over Osaka and in major cities across Japan. High school students will usually visit these game centers after school and blow all their cash on crane games and other arcade games.

Now when you hear "arcade games", you probably think of Pac-Man, pinball, etc. Well Japanese arcade games are a whole new thing entirely. Some of these games are so impressive, I just have to take pictures of them.

Here's your average Japanese game center. It's colorful, it's loud, it's fun.

Crane games (a.k.a. UFO Catchers) are on this floor.

Now here is an example of an impressive Japanese arcade game. These pods open up...

and inside is a cockpit with a huge wrap-around screen!

I was able to play this game, which is based off of the popular GUNDAM series. This game is like virtual-reality on steroids!

I just had to share this!
